Big stories, raw energy, and modern Canadian folk.

Daniel James McFadyen takes over the Red Bird stage on Thursday, December 3 for a night of indie folk, road-worn storytelling, and the kind of live energy that has been selling out venues across Canada. With an award-winning catalogue and a reputation for deeply interactive performances, McFadyen is quickly carving out his place among a new generation of Canadian songwriters.

His 2025 sophomore album, Back To The Country, marks a defining chapter in his sound, leaning into the Americana and Canadiana influences that have become central to his music. Recorded live off the floor in a cabin on Shuswap Lake with producer Cole Friesen, the album carries a warm, lived-in quality as McFadyen moves through stories of heartbreak, hope, humour, disillusionment, and the search for home.

It’s on stage where those songs really come alive. McFadyen’s cross-Canada tours have sold out rooms including Toronto’s Great Hall, Halifax’s Marquee Ballroom, and Ottawa’s Overflow Brewing, while his breakout momentum earned him three Music Nova Scotia Awards in 2024, more than any other artist that year. His charismatic stage presence and ability to turn a room full of people into part of the show have become as much a signature as the songs themselves.

Catch Daniel James McFadyen live at Red Bird Brewing on December 3 with music running from 8PM–11PM. Early Bird tickets are $20, followed by $25 General Admission, so grab yours early for the best price.

Kieran Campbell

Kieran Campbell is a folk singer-songwriter based in Tofino, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. He draws from a rich history of Dylan, Townes, and John Prine to create modern folk classics, the kind of songs that feel familiar the first time you hear them. His latest EP, OK Buddy, was released in 2025, and he is currently writing new music to be released later in 2026. Come early to catch his set. You’ll want to be able to say you heard him when the room was this small.
