DESCRIPTION:Spectrum Singers Kelowna is excited to present Syncopated Voices\, a dynamic choral performance featuring nine memorized works spanning popular music\, film scores\, and contemporary arrangements.\nDirected by Kim Kleineberg\, the choir is known for its musical excellence and versatility\, with performances at Carnegie Hall (2017) and collaborations with artists such as DavidFoster\, The Canadian Tenors and The Gary Cable Project.\nThe concert repertoire for Syncopated Voices spans genres and styles from Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mithcell)\, to Songbird (made famous by Fleetwood Mac and Willie Nelson)\, to The House of the Rising Sun to the theme from Spider-Man and What Was I Made For from Barbie and more…\nThe performance will feature pianist Jessica Crawford alongside guest jazz musicians Craig Thomson (saxophone)\, Darko Cuk (bass)\, Noah Truong (piano)\, and Scott Gamble (percussion).\nDoors open at 7:00pm with the program running from 7:30pm to 9:00pm\, and patrons are encouraged to arrive early for optimal seating!\nInterested in attending? These will include selections from Brahms’ Requiem\, Mendelssohn’s Elijah\, Handel’s Coronation Anthems\, Vivaldi’s Gloria\, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio\, Haydn’s Creation\, and more. Founder and guest conductor\, Leroy Wiens\, will make a special appearance to conduct a massed choir of past and current members in a presentation of Beethoven’s Hallelujah Chorus from Christ on the Mount of Olives. This is an event you won’t want to miss!
