SUMMARY:Anna Rose
DESCRIPTION:Fiery singer\, songwriter\, and guitarist Anna Rose has been making waves in the music industry for the last decade. The daughter of legendary composer Alan Menken\, Rose brings a diverse sound and driving passion to her music. Her sound is perhaps best described as a mash-up between Sheryl Crow\, Cher\, and Stevie Nicks\, a heavy blend that ties together blues\, rock\, and grunge influences\, and has found a home on stage alongside artists like Joan Osborne\, John Waite\, and Lez Zeppelin. \nDue out this fall\, Rose’s third full-length album The Light Between is a stylistic sea change for her\, moving from the heavier rock of the two albums and EP she’s previously released into a more melodic\, Americana realm\, recorded in Nashville with producer Paul Moak. “This record brought it back to me being a songwriter — that’s why it’s special to me\,” says Rose\, acknowledging that a desire “to be separated from my father” and his music led her in a harder rock direction before. “I think I leaned into rock because it was the place he was the most unknown and where people were indifferent to him\,” explains Rose\, who as a child sang on demos for her father and has “a deep respect for what he does.”

SUMMARY:Music in the Park - Barracuda – Tribute to Heart and Led Zeppelin
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy eight free summer concerts at Memorial Park’s Annette Beaudreau Amphitheatre in West Kelowna. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for evenings of live music\, food trucks\, family activities\, and community fun all summer long. \nBarracuda\, a tribute to Heart\, first hit the stage in 2011\, and rapidly became the top Heart tribute in North America. In 2012\, having heard rave reviews of Barracuda\, Heart’s original lead guitarist and co-writer\, Roger Fisher\, drove from Seattle to Vancouver with brother Michael\, Heart’s original manager and sound technician\, and also the subject of the song ‘Magic Man’ to see Barracuda. Roger and Michael went on record saying that Barracuda was the best Heart tribute they had ever seen\, and they had seen many. \nRoger was so impressed with Barracuda” that he made several special guest appearances with Barracuda\, on both sides of the border. Based in Vancouver\, BC\, Barracuda’s DL Car covers the vocals of Ann Wilson with absolute perfection\, which is not an easy task. Her precision is nothing short of breath-taking. Sourced out of Portland\, Oregon is Sarah Moon\, who perfectly covers the vocals and guitar of Nancy Wilson. On lead guitar\, keyboards and harmony vocals is Ray Roper\, formerly of recording artists Stonebolt. Multi-instrumentalist Darryl Hebert plays keyboard\, electric and acoustic guitars\, keytar\, banjo and mandolin. Mark Kenny\, plays bass\, and veteran of many Vancouver-based bands\, Doug Grant plays drums. In honoring Heart’s roots and history\, Barracuda includes two or three Led Zeppelin classics in their set. \nBarracuda captures the sound of Heart down to the finest detail both vocally and instrumentally and has to be seen to be believed! \n
