Shred Kelly

A high-energy night of indie folk rock and mountain-town spirit

Canadian indie folk-rock favourites Shred Kelly return to the Okanagan for a special night of live music at Red Bird Brewing on Saturday, July 18.

Known for their explosive live performances and genre-blending sound, Shred Kelly has spent the last decade building a loyal international following through relentless touring, heartfelt songwriting, and a stage presence that turns every show into a full-room celebration. Blending alternative rock energy with folk instrumentation and massive singalong moments, the band has carved out a sound entirely their own.

Emerging from the Canadian Rockies, Shred Kelly draws influence from across the musical spectrum, combining atmospheric textures, driving rhythms, shimmering synths, and emotional songwriting into a sound that feels equally suited for festival fields, mountain towns, and packed late-night venues. Their live shows balance cathartic energy with moments of vulnerability, creating the kind of connection that keeps audiences coming back year after year.

The band has toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Europe, and the UK while performing at major festivals including Ottawa Bluesfest, Winnipeg Folk Fest, Kaslo Jazz, SXSW, and Reeperbahn. Along the way, they’ve shared stages with artists like The Dead South, Elliott BROOD, and The Cave Singers while earning praise from outlets including Exclaim! and Americana UK for their ability to blend contrasting influences into something fresh, emotional, and unmistakably Shred Kelly.

Now touring their sixth studio album, produced by acclaimed producer Nygel Asselin, the band continues to evolve while staying rooted in the joyful, energetic spirit that has made them one of Canada’s most beloved live acts.

Set inside one of Kelowna’s favourite live music venues, this is the kind of summer concert that’s built for fans of indie rock, folk, dancing, and losing yourself in live music for a few hours.

Advance tickets are strongly recommended.

Zoo!

Joining the bill is Calgary indie rock outfit Zoo!, a fast-rising band known for their surf-infused sound, jangly guitars, and explosive live performances.

Drawing inspiration from the Australian indie rock scene, Zoo! blends laid-back melodies with driving rhythms and raw, youthful energy. Their music captures the feeling of long summer drives, late-night adventures, and living life at full volume. Following the release of their latest EP Wait For Me and a string of sold-out shows across Western Canada, the band continues to build momentum as one of Canada’s most exciting emerging indie rock acts.

Having shared stages with artists like Uncle Strut and Kasador while recently completing a Western Canadian tour with Sea of Lettuce, Zoo! arrives at Red Bird ready to get the crowd moving from the very first note.

Formed by a group of childhood friends, The Shindigs have quickly developed a reputation for energetic performances and a sound that blends indie rock, funk, punk, and alternative influences into something uniquely their own. With infectious hooks, tight musicianship, and a contagious sense of fun, their shows have a way of turning casual listeners into instant fans.

Following a breakout year that included supporting Cameron Whitcomb’s sold-out Hundred Mile High Tour and surpassing 100,000 Spotify streams, The Shindigs are quickly becoming one of Western Canada’s most exciting young live bands.
